Worldwide organisation
Founded in 1984 by Dr Hany El-Banna, Islamic Relief has
rapidly grown to operate field offices in 13 countries with projects running in many others.
Where does Islamic Relief work?
Islamic Relief has field offices across the world; in Afghanistan, Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Chechnya, China, Egypt, Kosovo, Indonesia, Mali, Pakistan, Palestine and Sudan. It also carries out projects in Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, India, Iraq, Somalia and Yemen. Due to its wide presence on the ground, Islamic Relief is able to quickly and effectively respond to major emergencies as and when they arise.

Islamic Relief UK is a grassroots organisation, working directly with local communities to raise funds. Its regional fundraising offices are in London, Birmingham, Leicester, Bradford and Glasgow.
